BIT's 1st Annual International Congress of Marine Algae-2012(AICMA-2012), successfully held in Dalian Bohai Sea Green Pearl Cruise Ship & Dalian World Expo Center, China on September 20-22, 2012. Totally, there were nearly 200 participants from more than 30 countries and areas have attended the AICMA-2012.
As the keynote speakers, Dr. Joe Baker, Adjunct Professor, James Cook University & Visiting Research Fellow, Australian Institute of Marine Science, Australia; Dr. William Fenical, Distinguished Professor of Oceanography and Pharmaceutical Science, Center for Marine Biotechnology and Biomedicine, University of California at San Diego, USA; Dr. Frank Oakes, CEO/President/Chairman, Stellar Biotechnologies, Inc., USA; Dr. Thierry Chopin, Professor and Scientific Director, the Canadian Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture Network, University of New Brunswick Saint John, Canada and Dr. Wu Changwen, President, Zhejiang Ocean University, China made excellent presentations and warmly discussed with the audiences at keynote forum.
There are 7 tracks including Marine Phycology, Marine Algae and Environment and Marine Algae for Food Industry, Aquaculture and Agriculture, Diatom, Harmful Algae Blooms (HABs), High-Value Products and Bioactive Compounds, Marine Algae and Drug Discovery and Young Scientist Research, Marine Algal Biotechnology and Marine Algae and Biofuels and so on. The conference has promoted the communication of colleagues and collaboration of partners from the upstream to the downstream of Marine Algae.
Depending on the warmly support and good suggestions from all of the participants, we are confident in organizing AICA-2013 which would be better and more successful than AICMA-2012. |
