u-World-2011

BIT's 1st Annual International Congress of u-World (u-World-2011), held in Dalian World EXPO Center on October 23-25 achieved a consummation. The theme of this conference is "New Dimension of the Smart Planet in U-Era ". Nearly 100 honored guests presented at the ceremony and gave brilliant speeches on invitation, among them are Dr. Florent Frederix, Head of Sector, Information Society and Media, European Commission, Belgium; Dr. Ken Sakamura, Professor of Information Science, The University of Tokyo; Director, YRP Ubiquitous Networking Laboratory, Japan; Dr. Wu Chou, IEEE Fellow, VP, Chief IT Scientist, Huawei IT Lab, USA; Dr. Geng Lin, Chief Technology Officer, Networking Business, Dell Inc., USA; Mr. Liu Bing Bing, Secretary-general of Internet of Things Industry Branch of China Communications Industry Association; Dr. Mihaela Ulieru, President, IMPACT Institute for the Digital Economy; Director, Adaptive Risk Management Laboratory, The University of New Brunswick, Canada; Dr. Toshitaka Tsuda, Fellow, Fujitsu Laboratories Limited; President of IEICE, Japan; Dr. Leon A. This annual congress comprised 5 Forums and 16 sections following the ceremony, covering topics of “Market Trend, Economy and Policy for IoT and U-Net”; “Breaking Research and Innovative Technology of IoT”; “Cloud/Ubiquitous Computing and Pervasive Internet/Network”; “IoT Privacy, Security, Standard and Industrial Implantation” and “Applications”.

This annual conference, which brought together nearly 200 specialists from 25 countries/regions, was devoted to the leading issues and popular topics and provided up-to-date information to all over the world. On the other hand, the meeting provided a brilliant information platform for domestic researchers to communicate with international experts and pushed forward the development of IoT industry. According to the feedback after the conference, many of our participants expressed that they would like to attend u-World conference in the next year. Depending on the warmly support and good suggestions from all of the participants, we are quite confident in organizing IDDST-2012 which would be more productive and successful.
