BIT's 2nd Annual World Congress of Agricultural Biotechnology (WCAB-2012), successfully held in Dalian on September 20-22, 2012. Totally, there were nearly 100 participants from more than 30 countries and areas have attended the WCAB-2012

As the keynote speakers, Dr.Douglas Wagner, Global New Ventures and Technology Leader, Dow AgroSciences, USA; Dr. Birgit Arnholdt-Schmitt, Professor, University of Evora; Dr. David Shi Liu, Managing Director, China Agriculture Guoxin Capital, China; Dr. Siva P. Kumpatla, Global Leader, Dow AgroSciences LLC, USA; Dr. Khalique Ahmed,Professor, Lynn University, USA and Dr. Richard Green, Professor, University of California, USA made excellent presentations and warmly discussed with the audiences at keynote forum.

8 sessions covered 8 fields including Agricultural Productivity, Economics and Sustainable Development; Biotechnology Tools and Molecular Genetics In Agriculture; Drought, Functional Foods, Pesticides, Insecticides and Fertilizers in Agriculture; Bio-diversity, Organic Farming And Biofuel Resource From Agriculture; Crop Improvement & Seed Breeding; Sustainability in Livestock Farming and Soilless Culture; Ecology, Soil Science and Food Safety for Agriculture; Phytopathology and Plant Biotechnology and so on. With the mission to initiate a sustainable platform for exchanging up-to-the-minute upstream and downstream achievements, industrial needs and research opportunities of industrial biotechnology fields in Asia Pacific Rim, participants from academic, industrial professionals and key-decision makers delivered the new achievement on their research, together discussed and analyzed the development of Agricultural Biotechnology. The conference has promoted the communication of colleagues and collaboration of partners from the upstream to the downstream of Agricultural Biotechnology.

Depending on the warmly support and good suggestions from all of the participants, we are confident in organizing WCAB-2013 which would be better and more successful than WCAB-2012.
